Dr habil. László Radácsi
Economist · University Lecturer · Researcher · Author
For several decades, my work has encompassed research, university teaching, and managerial and organisational decision-making. Its various strands are connected by one overarching question: how can we understand complex situations more clearly, make better-founded decisions and prepare more consciously for the future?
As a social science researcher, I seek new connections and insights. As a lecturer, author, speaker and workshop facilitator, I make research-based knowledge accessible and help translate it into better everyday decisions and more effective organisational practices.
Areas of Expertise
My work brings together four fields united by a common purpose: supporting better decisions by individuals, leaders and organisations.
Critical Thinking and Decision-Making
How can we distinguish well-founded claims from those that merely sound convincing? My work in this field focuses on asking better questions, evaluating evidence, recognising cognitive biases and using mental models to make more considered decisions.
Ageing and Longevity
What can we do today to remain healthy and independent for longer? I examine the technological and social dimensions of ageing, healthy longevity and human life extension, including their implications for individuals and society.
ESG and Sustainability
How can sustainability become an integral part of corporate decision-making and organisational practice? My research and teaching address corporate responsibility, responsible investment and consumption, sustainable business models, social enterprise and cross-sector collaboration.
Strategy, Leadership and Entrepreneurship
How can companies, leadership teams and growing businesses make better decisions? I study strategic thinking, entrepreneurship, small-business development and the organisational conditions that support adaptation and responsible growth.
Current Research
Healthy Longevity and Life Extension in Hungary
In a nationally representative study involving more than one thousand respondents, I examined the attitudes of Hungary’s adult population towards ageing, healthy longevity and human life extension.
The research explores how long people would like to live, what they would do with additional years of healthy life, and which personal or social consequences of substantially extended lifespans concern them.
My current research also investigates the organisations and knowledge hubs involved in ageing and longevity research, as well as the different scientific and institutional meanings attached to concepts such as ageing, gerontology, geriatrics, healthy ageing and longevity.
Teaching
I have taught at bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral levels and have developed university courses in research methodology, critical thinking, strategy, entrepreneurship development, design thinking, corporate responsibility and sustainability.
For me, education is not primarily about transferring ready-made answers. Its central task is to help students practise asking good questions, assessing evidence and thinking independently.
Alongside university teaching, I have delivered corporate lectures, workshops and training programmes focusing on self-awareness, communication, collaboration, strategic thinking and managerial decision-making.
I have taught at:
Corvinus University of Budapest
Budapest University of Economics and Business
Budapest Metropolitan University
Semmelweis University
Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design
Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania
Babeș–Bolyai University
Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University

Science Communication
I believe that scientific knowledge should not remain confined to academic journals and conferences. I therefore share research findings through books, accessible articles, podcasts, radio and television interviews, public lectures and professional events.
For me, science communication is not simply a matter of popularising research. It is its natural continuation: communicating the same body of knowledge in forms suited to different audiences and communities.
This approach also guides my Think Smart! and Age Wisely! projects, which connect scientific knowledge with questions that matter in people’s everyday lives.
